Pro- some of my most favorite blogs are by strangers, so your thoughts could appeal to others.
Personally I wish I had started out private but now I am just way to lazy to gather and invite people. But blogger patrol is key. I really need to go private though Cam REALLY advises it.
I honestly don't see any harm in going public. Just keep certain stuff on the down low, like your address and kids' schools and what not. I think it's mostly safe... but do what you think is best. Though, I do bet that lots of people are wondering who the heck is Coo?
